Special Operatives Division

Although the organization is divided into Sections that police different parts of the world, the Special Operatives Division is a group unto itself. Every Section has operatives that work for the Special Operatives Division. But ultimately, those agents can operate outside the bounds of the Section commanding officer, known internally as Operations, during missions.

Given the nature of their missions, it is imperative that Special Operatives be given a level of autonomy above that of a normal agent -- although they are cautioned to exercise that autonomy sparingly. Once back inside the confines of Section One, Special Operatives are subject to the same rules and punishments as all other agents. Coincidentally, these agents also usually possess certain personality traits that – while making them extraordinarily suited for special missions – also make them difficult to place among normal mission teams. Placed under too much restraint, these operatives become difficult to control, volatile, and ultimately can be a liability to any mission.

Only through deft handling have these agents been turned into an invaluable asset for the organization. And only their extraordinary skill sets have saved them from Abeyance status, or worse – a possible visit to the White Room.
